Vineyard: favoured sites in Veneto and in Trentino, on the hills along the Adige Valley (200 metres of average altitude); this vine variety has always been cultivated in Veneto, but it is only in the last few years that it has been specially appreciated, selecting clones that yield richer grapes considerably lowering the production per vine.

Vinification: following the success of the merlot grape worldwide the vinification has also been the subject of a fresh approach; the well ripened grapes are vinified by the traditional red wine method, with a long maceration of the skins in the must; fermentation takes place slowly, at a relatively low temperature, to protect the varietal aromas; The international taste, which favours rounder, softer but still full-bodied wines, finds these qualities in this wine thanks to a careful vinification finishing with the malolactic fermentation and with the addition of a part of the wine matured in barriques.
