A new wine-themed complex in Yinchuan, the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, was opened to the public on Tuesday, as the wine-producing region in Northwest China continues to attract global attention.
Located in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, the first phase of the complex, named Dulaan Holiday Wine Stroll, has started trial operation. The project integrates multiple functions such as grape cultivation, wine making, culture and arts, exhibitions, and testing.
The wine-oriented complex, which combines elements such as high-end vacation, views of the nature and wine chateau experience, is expected to inject new vitality into the development of the local wine industry, the local government said.
Located in the core area of the wine industry belt locally, the region has introduced 58 wine makers and 14 wineries with production, processing, storage and sales capabilities. The wine produced locally has been sold to more than 40 countries and regions globally.
The new operation of the complex is foreseen to help extend the industry chain that combines culture, travel and wine, and help foster some new tourism formats such as bike riding, bed-and-breakfast stays and self-driving camping sites, the local government said.
