Last month, China Commerce Department released a document named Norm on Terminology of Imported Wines(SB/T11122- 2015), regulating the mixed and confounding translation of terms imported from complicated wine world.
According to the document, “...in the international communication regarding grape and wine, language usually became an obstacle to scientific research, education, production and trade, leading to a range of problems and misunderstandings.”
The Norm is to “avoid confusion and error in domestic market”, and “promote a healthy development of imported wine market”.
